The Vin Rowe Geoff Watt Memorial Fun Run & Festival is Gippsland’s longest running Fun Run event which is held in memory of Geoff Watt – who was a marathon/ultra marathon runner & adventurer. This year we will have live music & food & wine festival at Geoff Watt Memorial Athletics Track, Burke Street, Warragul with plenty of stalls, vintage car show & entertainment.

Race events are L&F Eyecare Half Marathon, Tunbull Motors Mens & Womens 10k (Undulating)  and Jayco Mens & Womens 5k (Flat with slight rise before drink Station). Just Land Sales  2.5k Run /Walk (Off road on Geoff Watt Aths track/ trail) & 1 Lap Dash This year we will have Individual as well as  Teams prizes for fastest times & most entries from Club / Workplace / team.

Presentation of Winners of the past 50 years of the Geoff Watt Memorial Half Marathon on stage (For those who couldn’t make it last year).

All participants will receive a special commemorative Fun Run Medal. As well as $50 Active Feet Voucher and gift pack.

We will be running some competitions in the lead up & during the event with gifts on offer from our Sponsors (All competitions  will be announced on www.facebook.com/geoffwattrun so like our page & go in the draw to win some great prizes. Upload some photos of your training or when you do your run/ walk. As in previous years we have some Fancy dress prizes on offer as well.

This year’s Fun Run has chosen to raise money for Gippsland Young Athlete Scholarships in association with the Lions Club. Expenses for Country athletes from Regional areas such as Gippsland are more than for their city competitors due to travel. Lions have always been a part of the Community within Australia. With raising dollars to help local communities  – Lions are there. These Scholarships proudly supported by Jayco & Asics will help young Gippsland Athletes achieve their sporting dreams.
